This month’s featured Box of the Month is the roller ball collection by Raw Spirit. The Raw Spirit brand is, in their own words, “the continuation of an incredible journey that began with our collaborative art project, Nomad Two Worlds… a brand born out of experiencing the unique spirits of some of the world’s oldest communities”. Raw Spirit seeks to create the first global fragrance brand that combines luxury beauty with a social mission, a marriage they call “meaningful luxury.”

Our friends at Nomad Two Worlds came direct to Taylor looking for a package to hold their perfume collection. The package design needed to maintain the same aesthetic throughout all the fragrances while still offering the high end appeal their target customer values.

To affirm their commitment to social responsibility, the Raw Spirit package is made primarily of sustainable, recyclable materials– roughly 85% recycled material by total weight. The tray and insert is made of 100% recycled fiber board, and is wrapped in a 100% recycled paper from Mohawk Paper; furthermore, the tray, lid and insert are 100% recyclable. The sleeve is made of SBS lined with shimmering Lumineer by Holliston and foil stamped for each unique fragrance.

This package is a glimmering example of how “luxe” doesn’t have to be at the expense of our precious resources. Paperboard is an inherently sustainable material for packaging, and smart choices in wrap and decoration can allow designers and brand managers to maintain their environmental priorities without any compromise in visual appeal and brand impact.
