Custom Sales Kit for Harvey Windows

Taylor Box developed and manufactured this custom sales kit as an expert tool for the the sales people at Harvey Building Products.

Renovation and replacement are inevitable in home ownership. Things get damaged, things get broken, and sometimes things simply get old and out of style. When homeowners and contractors choose materials for their projects, dozens of options compete for their attention, and separating the right product from the pack can be difficult. One of the best ways to influence decision making is with a superior sample in quality custom packaging.

Appetite for construction

Harvey Building Products is a leading wholesale distributor of building products in the Northeast as well as a manufacturer of proprietary doors and windows. They specialize in supplying contractors with a variety of premium outdoor construction materials suited to the temperamental New England climate. Not to mention, all of their products are made in the US, and they are one of the few US manufacturers that design their own windows for production.

Harvey collaborated with Taylor Box to create a custom sales kit for a sample of their American made windows. The result was a sales kit loaded with features and feats of design.

An understated exterior

Window of ingenuity

We make packaging for an astounding spectrum of products and services. Some are relatively lightweight, others big and bulky. An actual window pane, however, tips the scales as some of the heaviest of the heavy. But that’s the thing about rigid paperboard packaging- with a little ingenuity, our durable boxes are up to the challenge.

This book style box was composed of a black chipboard tray and a three-panel folder made of Eskaboard. The smooth matte finish of the exterior was achieved using Black Vellin, a premium cover material from Skivertex. The Harvey logo appears in a subdued gray foil stamp, barely distinct from the flat black wrap. The resulting look is decidedly low key. In fact, when the box is closed, the only peculiar feature is the conspicuous handle attached to the side panel.

Premium custom sales kit, in all its glory

This is where the optimum capabilities of Taylor Box and Harvey Building Products meet. Both parties jam packed the inside of this box with content and quality. The physical window sample rests at the bottom of the box. Overlaid is a foam insert fit with functioning hardware from Harvey including a locking mechanism rendered in a shimmering metallic finish.

The cover of this book style box was designed with a pocket to hold print collateral, it also securely latches to the exterior handle, and with some assistance from a few magnet closures, tightly seals the box.

This project is about demonstration and education. Harvey had a vision to supply a complete consumer experience in miniature, a demo in a box. Accommodating the features necessary to achieve that experience took talented designers and manufacturing professionals alike.
